Record Review // Rozenhall "Dance of the Aberrant" (Adaadat)

This record begins very quietly, minimally.  It has these sounds which either feel like haunted souls or a car going around a racetrack and the intensity seems to increase as it goes on.   Dipping and diving, you can feel the frequency change on this wild ride.   It definitely can begin to sound like the haunted howls of wolves as well.

It feels like words are coming through in the background and then sonar sounds come through like frequencies.   This really takes over a strong alien feeling, as they frequencies become louder and more occurring.   At times this feels like we're really underwater with the sonar of a submarine, but then at the same time it can feel as if we're hearing all of these sounds at a zoo or in the wild as such similarly.

On the flip side, bits of distorted electronics are coming through.   There is a dramatic effect to this all as well.   This leads to distortion coming through like a drill which is making beats.  There is very much a dance structure this, somewhat trance somewhat like Wax Trax.   As this builds, it becomes more intense and even can begin to feel like an alarm.   This can also become quite hypnotic.

As it begins to slow down, it also gets quieter.   We're going into this quieter air now, like breathing.   A few bursts of these magical echoing synths, sort of like a raygun, come through before the end, but for the most part this really just trails off and turns from this loud, fast paced dance party into a slower, quieter drone.
