Record Review // Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders "New Earth Seed" (Arrowhawk Records)

Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders take us into a place that is both trippy and beautiful.  With distortion and singing, this is a psychedelic ride.   Acoustics come out on the second song and it reminds me of "Alice In Wonderland" for some reason.  Sax tones come through as well, which add a whole new level to this one.

At times this can feel like Flaming Lips and at other times it can feel like Pink Floyd.  What I like about this album is that it feels most like the type of record that someone would have in the 1960's or 1970's and they would have to hide it from their parents.   In that way, I also really do enjoy this because it feels dangerous.
