Music Review // King Falcon "Rabbit Gets The Gun"

King Falcon have created a clever and upbeat song with "Rabbit Gets The Gun".   This is rock n roll along the lines of Ok Go or at times it can even feel like The Police.   But it just has that face-paced rock sound that makes it seem like we're in a hurry but while also having a great time.  It's all in good spirits and the lyrics reflect that as well.

The song itself is lyrically about what the chorus says: "Have more fun when the rabbit gets the gun".   This is an interesting concept because it can be taken several different ways.  At its very core, you can just look at it in the most basic way of the tables turning on humans as the hunter becomes the hunted.   It's like something out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon and that just makes it extremely fun.

At the same time, if you want to get deeper into these lyrics you certainly can.   The way that this song flips the script lyrically can suggest anything from a workers revolt to the citizens of a country overthrowing their government.  But it can also be a good reminder to be nice to everyone around you because you don't know who of your co-workers might be your boss one day.  Sure, you didn't think much of it at the time, but now that this person was promoted over you, the rabbit has the gun.

Throughout this music video there are images of the band playing the song and they just look like they're having so much fun it's contagious.   At the same time, this plot develops as one person dressed like a rabbit is tied up by what we assume is a hunter.  As the video goes on though, the roles reverse and the hunter becomes tied up as the bunny laughs.   Visually, lyrically and musically just such a great way of showing that you never know when change may come.
