Music Review // James Keith "Living This Life"
As James Keith begins the song "Living This Life" you can hear these acoustics and his voice. This will eventually kick in and become more rocking, but the overall vibe of the song is just good vibes, like you'd see on a t-shirt. There is some genre between John Mellencamp and that "Life is a Highway" song that this would fall into, as it's easily accessible but also it's just a lot of fun and something that if you heard it in a playlist you'd be interested in hearing more.
Life can seem tough for a lot of people, especially right now. It seems like everyone is struggling and just doing their best to try and get by. It's difficult to think about doing things for yourself when you're trying to make ends meet. How can you afford to take a day off of work and, say, go to the beach? But I discovered long ago then when your life is over, you're not going to look back and wish you had worked more hours or wished you didn't take that day off. So, if you can, you definitely should find a way to make it work.
"Living This Life" is a care free song about making the most of every day. One of the lyrics which really sets this tone says: "She's got her hand on my lap while we're driving along with the radio playing our favorite songs". Though I could imagine this song in a Disney animated film, I also just like to think about how much this film resonates on a spiritual level with the film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Just going out there and living your life, you know, making the most of it. And that's what life should be.
While I fully understand that it simply might not be affordable right now to just take a day off and enjoy life, it's something that I think we all need to collectively work back to getting towards being able to do again. We weren't meant to work forty hours a week, especially when we do so and still can't afford to take a break. If you have the means to do so, take that break and just do that thing that you sometimes think about doing but don't always do. If you don't have the means, well, hopefully we can come together and change that in the near future so we can all start living our lives to the fullest.
