Movie Review // Bigfoot Exorcist (2024)

One thing about me is that I love anything that involves Bigfoot.  That is to say, if it's a movie or a television show I'll give it a watch purely out of my love for Bigfoot.  This film, "Bigfoot Exorcist", is actually something that should've been on my watchlist Bigfoot or not because it is written and directed by Donald Farmer and Newt Wallen (I have a Donald Farmer film in my watch pile on VHS) and Jessa Flux has a role in here as well.

This film begins with an unnamed woman being killed by Bigfoot.  Two hunter types see the next woman, call her "sugar tits" and then she's off to die.   So all of this comes into the idea of this Satanic cult trying to summon Bigfoot to do their killing.  There is a group of nuns in here trying to stop them and, well, if you've ever wanted to see a movie with a "Holy Satan" chant this might be the one for you.

Characters can get a bit confusing if you don't pay attention to their names, but after the first two kills, two women hiking happen upon the cult and then one of them is killed.  But when you're watching this movie, it's easier to kind of keep track in your head of who is still alive then trying to type it out afterwards here, but as a couple come in for their weekend getaway (which is where Jessa Flux is, playing the character Rose- like the wine) it just adds to the chaos.  It's like everyone is kind of floating around in the forest but then they suddenly all come together by the end.

I'm pretty sure that the guy who shows up with Rose and lets a random woman (to him) use his shower ends up killing Bigfoot but then also somehow becomes Bigfoot.  There is also a great scene where one of the cult people is tied up and the nuns are trying to get the devil out of him but he manages to rip the nuns apart.   This is full of that b movie level gore that you would expect from not only Bigfoot but also from the fight against religion.

"Bigfoot Exorcist" also has Jocephus in it, who is a professional wrestler that passed away a few years ago.   He's actually the one who rips apart the nuns and just has this great Bruiser Brody-like vibe to him throughout the movie.  You know... if Bruiser Brody was a cult leader instead of a violent wrestler (but that line is also thin, right?)

With all of this, it should be noted that the Bigfoot design has more of an alien-like face than how I'm used to seeing Bigfoot, but anything which enhances the lore is fine by me.  Maybe Bigfoot really is some sort of alien and that's why people don't see him until it's too late.  Either way, I really enjoyed this film for what it was and if you're willing to go into the movie with the idea that you want Bigfoot to win then get ready to see some blood.
