Music Review // WAASH "Might As Well Know"

I very much enjoy the sound of WAASH.  In some ways, this could be that type of song in the -gaze or -wave genre (specifically a chillwave or dreamwave sound) that goes into a compilation of shoegaze and shoegaze adjacent songs, something like what whenthesunhits used to release.

But within that sense of nostalgia and maybe even putting it into some sort of genre like new wave comes a more modern feeling as well.   If an artist like The Weeknd was more pop and less rock or if The Killers just slowed down to mellow out, then it could come out sounding like this.   There are also just this nice guitar solo in here as well.

I've always been a firm believer that as much as you need songs full of energy to keep you going, you should also listen to songs like this because you can't run all the time.   Sometimes you need to take that break and slow it down and WAASH does just that.  Although on some weird level, it feels as if this song is moving faster than it actually sounds.

With the chorus lines of "It's just the way you take me down / You might as well know" guaranteed to get stuck in your head, this is just a fun song from WAASH that can go within your playlist near faster songs or just compliment their album on the whole.    Whatever the mood, let's keep it chill and play this song.
