Music Review // Kodiak Arcade feat. Cabin Fever Orchestra "No Reason to Change"
Through delicate acoustics and angelic strings, "No Reason to Change" is an uplifting type of song that you might play at your wedding. It is, at heart, a love song, with lyrics such as "Cause I just want to see you" and based upon the music video you can see it as a story of a couple who are romantically involved. This could possibly apply to any sort of unconditional love you feel, but with the video it does feel like a romantic relationship so we'll go with that over something like family.
As the title of the song says, "Oh, no needing to change" is a strong message within here. It's kind of funny because you always hear stories of how people get together and they try to change each other into the people they want to be with. It's like you see someone with potential, try to mold them into that perfect partner and then eventually complain that they've changed and aren't the same person that you initially fell in love with.
During the time we are alive, we all change all the time, but the important part of that change is to do it together. When you are 12 years old you don't like the same things as when you're 22 and you don't feel the same ways, and so as time goes on and you get older you do change in a natural sort of way. But the ability to change during your life in this way isn't so much "change" as it is growth, and so the idea of a couple growing together is also important.
On some levels this song reminds me of Blue October, but it just has that great way where you could even hear it a movie during a romantic scene, possibly even when the couple finally gets together at the end. Whatever you're reason for wanting to hear this, you should just use it as that affirmation that the person you want to spend all of your time with is the right person for you.
