Music Review // Jess Cullity "Fall In Love Again"

As soon as this song begins you'll hear how dreamy it is and the beats.  The pace picks up to steady rock and it feels like something from the mid to late 1990's.  Sounds on that borderline rock sound but also with some pop in them don't come around often enough any more, so we have to appreciate them when artists such as Jess Cullity make them.  This also has this great acoustic build into the percussion during the chorus.

What I like about "Falling In Love Again" lyrically is that it touches upon a topic that doesn't really get talked about enough in general, but also in song.  There is a time in between a relationship that has ended and the next one which starts that comes with the idea of you, as the person in between those two points, must feel ready to go from one to the other.  A lot of times people will jump from one relationship to the next when they're not ready and that hinders the new relationship.

This song isn't just about "Falling In Love Again", it's about being ready for love again. Breakups are not something we like to go through, but at least when a relationship ends like that you can tell what you want out of a partner which will help your next one.  This comes out in the lines: "I wanna fall in love again / Won't have to pretend" because it just makes it feel like your next relationship will be more genuine.

Like many things in life though, love isn't always guaranteed.  Jess Cullity does a great job of addressing this within the song as well, with the lyrics: "This is a risk I'm willing to take / Pray it don't end in more heartache".   You can feel like you've grown and know more about what you want now, but at the same time still feel as if you're taking a risk and that's fine.  Life is about taking risks, especially with love.  So if you're ready for some solid wisdom but also throwing caution to the wind then this song is for you.
