Music Review // TIAHN "LiFe iS wEiRd"

From the very first to the very last song on this six song EP by TIAHN, you will hear lyrics and just feel vibes of empowerment.   "Woman (On My Own Terms)" is the type of anthem that everyone needs to hear- especially men- because it's about not trying to put what the idea of a woman should be inside of a little box.   At one point in the song, TIAHN sings about how she has a potty mouth and that might surprise people, because even some people reading this might think that isn't lady-like, but this EP is here to challenge what you think that means.

The theme of this album might very well come out in the first song: "Think what you want / Think what you need / But I'm the woman I wanna be".   But as we go through to "Dodgeball" the title comes up and says "Life is weird / It's all or nothing" .   Big pianos start the more sultry "This Is Love", which kicks into a smooth beat.  At times I'm reminded of P!nk and at other times I'm reminded of Meghan Trainor, though I only know that one song by her and TIAHN seems to have more range.

"Liar" is a song about not tolerating people who lie and as we get to the end of this EP there is a song called "Bitch Face" which I feel like could be a single though the radio may not play it because of the word "bitch".    This song is just upbeat and a whole lot of fun, though the idea of having resting bitch face may imply otherwise.   I do enjoy the line "I'll be thinking about what's for lunch / But my face is saying it's time to punch" as it seems to describe it fairly accurately.

"LiFe iS wEiRd" takes the idea of what society thinks a woman should be and shows us that a woman can really be whatever she wants and, perhaps most importantly, the idea of what a woman is should be decided upon by a woman and not men.   Somewhat blues, somewhat pop this EP is just ready to take off and I feel lke in doing so it could lead a lot of women to learning a lot about themselves but also possibly men learning about women at the same time.
