Music Review // Tashi Dorji "Low Clouds Hang, This Land Is On Fire" (Drag City)

Guitars slowly peak in.  This sound is ambient and it feels like post rock even.   While this might feel slow, it also can take the shape of an indie film score, like back when Focus Features was doing such great things.  We shift now into the song "murmur" which has some more bass behind it, but these songs are somehow intense and chill at the same time.   You can hear the guitar strings slide as well.

The way these songs can come through one note at a time, in fragments, yet still feel whole is just remarkable.  At times this music can also just feel like the experimental guitar playing of someone such as Jimi Hendrix.  But it will forever be the magic within this sound that can make this both feel like an entire sound and the parts which create that sum, all at the same time.  Truly just beautiful and moving.
