Music Review // Isabel Rumble "Patience Peaceful Breathing Slow"

To have a song such as this by Isabel Rumble, you expect it to set a certain mood- a tone- just based on the title and it does just that.  With a big, atmospheric intro with strings, this song goes into some dark piano sounds and it can just feel dramatic as well.  This feels very much like the type of song you'd put on for meditation or just deep concetration- again, even just based on the title- and the sound that goes along with this supports that fully.

From artists such as Tori Amos and Fiona Apple to Polly Scattergood and Kira McSpice, "Patience Peaceful Breathing Slow" just takes on that dramatic sound that you would expect to hear.  At times, especially as the song goes on, it can even begin to feel angelic and spiritual.  Listening to this song as a sort of mantra can really help elevate your mind set for those times when as the song say in the title with "Patience" we might just need to slow down.

As someone who grew up during dialup internet, I can remember having to go to a library and using a physical book to look something up.  Now, within the push of a button as fast as you can think it you can have an answer.  This world seems designed, right now, to feed us with as much information as possible in as little time as possible as well.  We never really get that time to pause, slow things down and digest them. This song also serves as a good reminder to just let things process and listening to it can give you that break you might need.

In a society where it can feel like it is frowned upon to just take time to ourselves, use this song by Isabel Rumble as a way of doing just that.  Sit.  Relax.  Be at peace until you feel like you're ready to get back into the world again.  Having that sense of peace will make you feel better all around and eventually you might be able to find it in other ways or just on your own, but this song is just such a great place to start that journey.
