Guitar strings being plucked turn into this steady sort of beat but then it all transforms into moans and howls, like we're in a haunted house. The strings cut through, somewhat sounding like a saw at times, and as they do they echo off into the nothingness of it all. A little bit of some scrambles here, not quite the changing of the radio station but something similar. As these slightly harsh noises come through, they twist and wind while also leaving quite the reverb behind them. As quiet and small as this song can get, it can also become just as big and loud.
A bit of that high string plucking into the scraping of the strings, a real dragging. A knocking takes us into the second track, which is then filled with distortion coming through like a storm. Everything is being fried, like the planet just drifted into a giant bugzapper. Some robotic, R2D2 type of tones in here as well. Powerful electronics, communicating with the Droids.
Into the third track and it's more like electronic balls bouncing around the void with a little bit of those Droid sounds behind it. The differences in lengths of these tracks also needs to be noted. The fourth comes through with some of those harsh, suspenseful type of strings- rather loudly at that. As the tone before it was softer, you might have your volume set appropriately and this will just hit you hard no matter what. It's like we're floating around in space now, like the Atari game Asteroids. A bit of things falling apart now, like being knocked off of shelves.
The sound gets somewhere between pinball and magic now. A steady, rapid-fire type of pattern now, as we move through the distortion, becoming one with it. A mechanical loop now, as we grind on through. This can begin to feel like the complete and utter destruction of a pinball style machine now. Some sounds like magic mushrooms in Super Mario Bros. and this is taking off with a screeching as we near the end of the track. Then it just stops and slowly stalls to an ending. A little ambient light shining through.
Up and down we ride the wave on the fifth track, which brings in distortion and higher pitched tones which sounds like laughing. That's a short one, so we quickly switch over to the next track which can feel like someone playing table tennis in a very distorted manner. I somewhat enjoy how this sound can mess with you because on my laptop I've had it as high as 70 and as low as 40 depending upon what's happening. It feels like you can hear it softly, so you turn it up and then the music realizes the opportunity to get loud again.
Droids and modems take over the sixth track, through the static field. More of that bugzapper sound now, with bugs getting zapped and then full on space electronics. The seventh songs return to the loudness- distorted chaos, as it just seems to be set at a higher level than the track before it so it's just sitting there, waiting to blow out your eardrums. This is under a minute long, so I let the void engulf me.
Quieter sounds now at the end, like pots and pans and strings breaking. That sudden boing. That ball is dropped and echoes through the hallway now. A sound almost like distorted vocals now makes it feel like a monster is coming. The precision of a locomotive, but still ever so haunted. Scraping up and down the scales now, expanding and contracting. A bit like a saw now, going back and forth trying to do its damage. Then a hum like a bee. Deep into a little bit of bass and then everything gets louder and feels more cinematic as we explore the final minute.
