Music Review // evvvie "Another Night"

While the music of evvvie can feel soft and delicate, this song has that way about it where it just feels like such a lovely ballad.  It does kick in a little bit, but it just swirls around like in you're in a magical forrest while also just making me think about winding up a music box and watching the tiny dancer on top spin around in circles as the song places.  "Another Night" just has that fragile way about it where you want to protect it and keep it safe as a song, so its message can be preserved.

In a world full of songs where they seem to either declare love for someone or be at the opposite end and express a break up, I feel like there are so many other scenarios in between those two spectrums that people can write songs about but there just aren't as many.  With "Another Night" evvvie has found that place where it might feel like a connection was missed and now it is time to explore that.

This idea is made clear with the lyrics: "Where I was and where you were going / Wasn't right at the time".  There is something to be said for the idea that maybe two people aren't going to be on the same page right now, but that doesn't mean they won't ever be.  In the same way that you can believe two people who are on the same page now might not be forever (which is how break ups happen) you have to believe that maybe this is right just not right now.

There are certainly different reasons why two people might not work out right now but might in the future.  Maybe right now one person is going through the grief of losing a loved one and needs to process that first.  But the important thing is recognizing that you need to process something- you need to be emotionally available- before you can be with another person and evvvie just showcases that message through this beautiful song so well.
