This album begins with these signals, as if we're sending messages through space and then the piano keys take over, one at a time. This has a rather post apocalyptic feel to it, as if we're living in space now because the planet has been destroyed beyond repair. Some percussion comes in now- drums and cymbals joining static. A trumpet now, playing notes which come out as both sad and triumphant. A steady beat, the piano keeps dropping notes and this one just feels ominous overall.
To start off the second track there are these tones which hit like ringing bells. This becomes a progression of different style tones which loop and feel like we're going to drop off into hip hop. Everything just dove off into this rather cool mood, where it just feels like we're chilling on the beach. This takes us into "the note collective", which is more of a hollow ringing sound- much more ambient in the delivery. This just feels so pleasant, so free, as the acoustic notes come in as well. A nice ringing with organ tones to end out the third song.
Into the fourth song now and you can hear these guitar strums as they resonate. It almost becomes a bit metal, like the sadder Metallica sound. Those key horns come in with some cymbal slides and this one is just opening up like someone who is on the ground in a big city and then has a view of it from above, such as in a helicopter. The trumpet is back but it's a bit more seductive, less sad and more in here with intent and purpose. Keys join in and it feels like we're really beginning to fly.
An ambient air now, as "career day" is opening up big. The piano is taking control here and this song feels like it's in pain. This song can also feel like ascension, as if we're leaving this plane and moving on to the next one. As we head into "eyes as mountains" there are these tones which can make it feel like we are on a carousel, but overall this is just a fun, energetic song which has a great flow to it. Through the dark bass tones on the final song, audio clips can be heard coming through.
Distortion cuts through as it sounds like the music is being played over a conversation. By the end it just feels like we're taking off in a whoosh of air. While there are obivous similarities between this album and other artists you might have heard tackle the idea of ambient music- such as The Ambient Visitor- the way this album comes out is different because it feels like it has less of an electronic approach and more of an organic one. The sound can be along the same genre as other sounds you already know, but it still ultimately comes out in a new way which should be heard.
