Music Review // Vox Rea "Hard"

 

Vox Rea has created a song which discusses the ideas of love being difficult while making it feel like we are floating around on clouds.  With beats, the verses can be rather chill and ambient.  As the chorus kicks in you can hear more blissed out synths.  The overall vibe of this song, especially with the vocals, is just celestial.  This is just the type of song that musically you will hear and it will lift your spirits.

Lyrically the chorus of this song explains what it is all about.  The lines of "Nobody said it'd be easy but I'm so tired of it being so hard" not only have that idea of it not being easy but reinforce that by saying that you just wish it wasn't so hard.  It just feels like the type of person who is currently unlucky in love and is looking to just catch a break and find one good person who doesn't let them down.

During the verses I also really appreciate the lines "I was never really sure about you but I could've used one more try" because it does show that willingness to give it a shot.  If you're out there saying that love is hard but your expectations are way too high or you're just running away at the slightest bit of adversity then perhaps the problem is you.  But as Vox Rea says this it just shows that there is actual effort being put in and it still doesn't seem to be working.

Whether you are currently unlucky in love or you have been at some point in your life (but maybe more so if you are right now) "Hard" is a song which you will find yourself relating to lyrically.  However, you don't need to be unlucky in love to understand that it is how the character in the song feels and thus you can listen to this to simply enjoy those Flora Cash type sounds of angelic synthpop.
