Music Review // 2ŁØT "Sacrifice" (The Albert Harvey Mix)

If you've ever wondered how 2ŁØT could create a sound that felt even more intense and made you want to dance at the club even harder, then look no further.  They have brought Albery Harvey on board for an enitre EP of remixes (coming October 24th) and it begins with the release of this remix of "Sacrifice".   This is one of my favorite songs by 2ŁØT, so for them to not only have this song as part of this remix EP but for it to be the first single to bring us into that EP just feels special.

The lyrics for the song "Sacrifice" are about what the title means.  Lines like "I'll sacrifice / For what I want" are just as inspirational as what comes next with "I'll sacrifice / I know what I've lost".   The hook is "Ready to give it all" and this just has such a powerful energy within the words that also can be matched by the music.  With this remix by Albert Harvey, there is this added level of music which you can hear and it just really feels like we're taking it up a notch.

Though it might be the first time ever, this song does make me think of working out.  I imagine a class of people riding those stationary bikes as this song plays.  But I think that it's because it has that pacing that can really hype you up and move you physically, while the idea of having sarificed to get where you are can help drive to keep you going.  It's less about sacrificing your favorite foods to stay healthy and more like a film where one character tells another they must keep going because an earlier death won't be in vain.

People don't talk enough about the sacrifices you must make in your life if you truly want to accomplish your dreams.  In some cases, you need to give it all up.  But I feel like the greatest part about this song is that each of us has that personal thing we've had to sacrifice to get where we are.  And maybe to someone else it might not seem like as big of a deal, or maybe it's not that huge movie moment where you leave your family and country behind.  But, to you, on a personal level, it is a big deal and it is that impactful moment.  So 2ŁØT highlighting all of that with this banger of a song just really works.
