Music Review // Galamba "Sea Shack"
Though this song by Galamba is powerful on the music, there are words but best I can tell those words seem to be along the lines like "hey ya" and not really setences and phrases. It's more like the vocals act like an instrument in that way, singing along with the musical parts, as the bass line can make a sound but not a word. It's definitely interesting how it all flows together in that way and seemingly becomes one singular sound though it is made up of many.
What always strikes me first in a song such as this is the percussion. It's that instrumental style that might be bongos but overall just feels like people banging with their hands more than with drum sticks. This certainly adds a lighter mood to the sound, which can be somewhere between jazz, Bossa Nova, mambo and even salsa as it just feels both upbeat while also just moving.
As I question whether or not there is a sax in here, the guitar goes off to where it shows how sweet it can be. This takes us into this guitar solo, and it feels in some ways like every instrument almost has a solo as well, to let us know it is there, though by the end they all come back again to form that one sound.
There is definitely something about this song which can tell a story better than any song with lyrics can. It's that idea of someone who is stressed out and just missed the bus. It's a businessman heading to the most important meeting of his life but he forgot exactly what he needed to land this big account. It's just a fast moving world and sometimes you have to slow down or you'll risk having it all pass you by. This song lets us take that ride right up until the end.
