Following the game on Monday against the Middletown Mets at Ceppa Field, which the Record-Journal Expos lost by one run, the rest of the week turned out to be a somewhat weird time.    On Tuesday night, the Expos were rained out of Ceppa Field but moved the game a half an hour earlier and at Legion Field in Meriden against the Bristol Greeners.

The Greeners sacrificed in a run to make it two outs but the bases were loaded, so they took an early 1-0 lead.   But in the bottom of the first inning, AJ Hendrickson would single in Sebby Grignano to tie the game.   While stealing third base, the throw would miss and that would allow Javon Malone to come home and put the Expos up 2-1 after one inning of play.

A double for the Greeners would score another run in the top of the second inning and then no one would score again until the fifth inning.   Tied up 2-2, Eric Corhouse singled in the go ahead run, but in the bottom of the fifth inning "Superstar" Luke DiMauro would double to deep center field allowing Sebby Grignano to score by jumping over the Greeners' catcher!

All tied up 3-3 with two innings left to play and the umpires call the game on account of darkness.   Look, what's done is done and you can't change it but it was kind of odd to think that the game was ended when they probably could've gone one more full inning, but also why if rained out from Ceppa move to a field without lights?  It's unclear whether or not these two innings will be made up or if it will just be a tie, but they could've just rescheduled this entire game.

On Wednesday night it looked like it might rain though it didn't and the game between the Expos and M&T Bank went as planned at Wethersfield High School.  The game started off hot, as in the bottom of the first inning Banker Brendan Lynch over left/center field to make it a 1-0 game.

It wouldn't be until the bottom of the sixth inning when Justin Miller hit a big double to left/center field and that would allow Cooper Johnson to score that another run would be on the board.    This put the Bankers up 2-0 and that is where the score would stay, as in the top of the seventh the game would end on an interference call on Max Adams, which was another one of those "It happened this week" deals.

Special mention needs to be made though to both Max Giacco (his first start this season as a pitcher) and Camden Murphy because this game was really about the pitching.   When it's 2-0 and the whole middle chunk of the game doesn't have any runs scored, you know the pitching is doing something right and this was just-- both pitchers were on, the Expos just needed a little bit more offense.

To cap off this Week of Weird the Expos-Graphics game at Northwest Park on Thursday night was pushed to Friday due to the field conditions.   On Friday, the game was then pushed again until the following Friday.   It's kind of strange to think that the field isn't ready after two days (and it barely rained Thursday, didn't rain Friday) but now we're also into this dilemma where that game is up against Night 2 at Dunkin Donuts Park!

By the way, if you ever happen to find yourself in Manchester and a game is rained out, don't go home mad- go to Ollie's for some great prices on items you both need and want!  This is not a paid promotion, but it could be (call me?) but I know that the Ollie's in Waterbury is gone so Manchester is definitely the one to go to now.
