Music Review // ARK IDENTITY "Eyes"

They say that the eyes are the portals to the soul and in this song, ARK IDENTITY really touches on the human condition.   This sound is mellow and melodic, chill with some kind of -gaze in these guitars, but it is certain to pluck on your heart strings if you have them.  It's just an overall romantic type of lovely song.

During the chorus of this song, the lyrics are "How will we choose to live our lives? I'll keep up hope, you'll open up your eyes".   I really enjoy this message because it's about not only the general sense of living and how we choose to do so, but opening up your eyes to what's going on around you.   

There might be a number of different ways you'd need to open up your eyes.  Maybe you're depressed and need to realize all of the people around you who care about you.   But I always like to think of it in a broader scale where we, as a society, need to realize there are more workers than there are CEOs and if we all band together we can control the power which will give us the money we need to survive.

Even if you don't want to get all Grapes of Wrath in this song, there is still enough sincerity within these lyrics to feel like you can have your own take.   In a lot of ways, this song can even feel magical because that which is keeping you in the dark- for you personally- might just be the thing that this song opens your eyes to.  For each of us, this could become a very personal journey to take.
