Music Review // The Lightning Struck "Inbetweening"

The Lightning Struck have created this powerful ballad which reminds me of Lou Reed.  There is just this big, acoustic feeling to this rock song but it's also rather pretty.  It's not the type of song we hear as much on the radio these days, but back in the 1990's and prior to that this would've fit in so well with artists like Tom Petty and Aerosmith.

Through a lyric video of various images that line up with the song, this sends the message about what exactly is the "Inbetweening".   So there is this moment in life that might have already happened or is happening right now and you just don't know it.  That moment will end up teaching you a lesson.  It'll be a memory that later on you either cherish because it was a good memory or you hold it close because it was life teaching you a lesson.

The point from when that moment happens- let's say a break up with a significant other- to the point when you realize why you and that person weren't meant to be together is the "Inbetweening".    And isn't it funny how life has that way where it doesn't teach you the lesson a day or even week after something happens- sometimes it can take years, even decades!

How The Lightning Struck managed to capture this moment into song, with lyrics such as "Between the lands of here and there / Is where the moment lingers", just amazes me.  It's something which I've known about and often think about but didn't really know how to put it into words or if anyone else thought of it like this.   Thankfully, The Lightning Struck is here to keep us well informed.
